Welcome to ResearchPod. By using our app and website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ResearchPod ("the App" or "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ResearchPod transforms research papers into audio podcasts using artificial intelligence. The service includes:

Converting PDF documents into audio format
A free tier that includes 3 podcast episode generations per month
A premium subscription tier with increased capacity

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to use ResearchPod
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service

4. Content and Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of any documents you upload. You grant ResearchPod a license to process your documents for the purpose of generating podcasts.

When you ask a question about a paper in the in-app chat, you grant ResearchPod a license to review, anonymize, edit for clarity, and display that question anonymously on the paper's public page and share it anonymously with the paper's author. We remove identifying details first and never attach your identity. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Generated Content

Podcasts generated from your documents are for your personal use. You may not redistribute generated content for commercial purposes without permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Upload content that infringes on copyrights
Use the service to generate harmful or illegal content
Attempt to circumvent usage limits

6. Premium Subscription

ResearchPod Premium is offered on monthly and yearly billing cycles. Web subscriptions are billed through Stripe and iOS subscriptions are billed through Apple. Free accounts include 3 podcast episode generations per calendar month and 3 lifetime Ask questions. Premium includes up to 100 podcast generations, 30 audiobook generations, and unlimited Ask questions per calendar month. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the active billing period.

7. Disclaimers

ResearchPod is provided "as is" without warranties. AI-generated podcasts may contain errors or inaccuracies and are not a substitute for reading original research papers.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
